Superdrug has appointed a new pharmacy director to deliver its healthcare strategy, grow its pharmacy and clinic portfolios and put in place improved IT systems “to enhance” patients’ experience and “improve their online and offline journey.”
Craig Watt (pictured) takes up the newly created role having worked for Superdrug for a number of years in a variety of positions, including pharmacy manager, regional healthcare manager, private services manager, head of healthcare operations and, more recently, head of pharmacy operations for the north.
Superdrug said Watt will be tasked with growing its Online Doctor and Health Clinic portfolios. Announcing his appointment, the chain said one of the “stand-out moments during his Superdrug career” was helping to roll out Superdrug’s Covid clinics in 2020.
“This newly created role (of pharmacy director) within the business is to further invest in a forward-thinking and agile pharmacy business that will support patients and local communities,” Superdrug said.
Its chief commercial director Simon Comins said: “Craig’s proven track record within Superdrug healthcare, along with his commitment and passion in delivering exceptional healthcare standards for our customers, made him the ideal candidate for this role. We have ambitious plans for pharmacy and Craig’s appointment, along with the wider team, will help us deliver our goals.”
